Heads Up Seven Up

ArtSpace worked hard so a little game of heads up seven up was in order!

Here we are painting rocks..

Our class has been coming up with ways to leave our mark on Encanto's campus - this is one project created to communicate three aspects about each students personality - On one rock they wrote meaningful words - on another they painted a self portrait - and on another they are using the rock's shape to make an imagined insect.

Making goofy pencil charms using model magic!

The students learned how to make candy cane twists, mix colors, and make connections using model magic...Using there newly learned tricks they each made an insect and a pencil charm..

Here we are making structures using model magic and tooth picks!

Sponge Painting Giant Shamrocks!!

 

After the shamrocks were cut out everybody got to decorate their shape with lots of sponge painting...

Happy St. Patricks Day!

 

Our classroom was in a sea of Green as each student cut out their own unique shamrock...

Here is a snapshot of our 4x4 works in progress...They are all done now but we will keep the finished results a surprise until opening night!

Using Watercolor on our Found Object Collages

I'm working on getting this video to be a little bit more clear but in the meantime ArtSpace has been busy making artworks on 4 x 4 inch pieces of plywood for the Fomed of Matters show in the Step Gallery on ASU's campus. At first we were going to leave them white but then experimented with the water color on the gesso and decided it would make their collages a lot more exciting and personal...
